Long Time No See

So I realize it has been over a year since I last posted anything. Lots of things have happened and time seems to fly by faster and faster each week.

I started back to work in October 2010. XTO was gracious enough to hire me back. It was an adjustment for the kiddos at first, but they are doing well. I also got promoted in April to be a Lead. I was offered 2 other positions before this and I turned them down in the hopes that this one would come available. It was something I wanted when I worked there before and I was VERY excited to get the position after being gone for 2 years.
I walked in my first Cancer Walk-a-thon last year and I enjoyed it so much. I have decided to do it every year now and I will be participating in that next weekend.

Ernie got hired on full time with BP in January. He was a contract employee with them for almost 2 years, so it was very exciting for him to finally get hired on as an official employee. He really enjoys it and he is closer to home now. He is still an avid hunter and just finished up his archery elk hunt. He was unsuccessful this year, but like I told him, you win some, you lose some.

The boys are doing very well. They seem to catch every illness that is running around, so I tend to miss a lot of work staying home with them. But that's life!
We made the decision to hold Isaiah back from kindergarten this year. So he will start next August when he is 6. I also moved the kids to a new preschool/daycare in June. It is at my Dad and Mom's old church here. I really like it and the kids do too.
Isaiah's teachers tell us every day that they are so amazed at his intelligence. He is a VERY bright little boy and he is definitely one of the leaders in his class.
Austin is also very intelligent, he is just very mischieveous! Almost every day his teachers have something to tell me that he did. Whether it's peeing on the outside playground equipment or just not wanting to cooperate. He is a VERY independent child and he just has to do things on his time. He is such a little comedian though! He constantly has us laughing.
They are definitely ALL boy though! They love to have anything like their Daddy's. They are already excited for hunting and like to pretend our cats are "mountain lions" and "bobcats". They chase them around with their toy guns and bows and arrows. I'm surprised the cats handle it as well as they do!!
We are signing them up for swimming lessons in October so that should be exciting.

Well I will try to get better about posting again. It's just hard to find the time!

Wow. 30 years.......

Well, Ernie has officially been on this earth for 30 years now! I don't think he really likes the idea of getting older, but as I told him, I think he is definately getting better with age! We had a nice little get together to celebrate ( I wanted to have a surprise party for him, but he wanted no kind of BIG party!) He made some YUMMY ribs with his new smoker he purchased for himself and we just relaxed and had fun.

The above photo is how my hubby felt about his 30th birthday apparently. But if you know Ernie, that's a pretty normal feeling about a lot of things!!!

Wowza!

I can't believe we are already this far into June!! It is going to be Isaiah's birthday before we know it! We have Father's day coming up this weekend. I don't think we are going to do anything too special. Probably make Ernie his favorite breakfast and see what he wants to do. We are going to spend the 4th of July up at the cabin for a little Rennels reunion. It should be fun. Then I have Ernie's birthday and then our Anniversary. Then there is tons going on in August!! Hopefully one of these days we will get out to the lake and have some fun. I've been reluctant to take both boys.....Isaiah went with Ernie and had a blast, but I'm not sure how Austin would be. Good thing for life jackets I guess!

Summertime!!

Well, I know it has been a long while since I posted anything. I have been working on helping Grandpa with the Rennels Family cookbook for the 75th reunion. I finally finished it! So hopefully I will have more time to keep up.
Not much has been going on. Ernie is still working nights(we are actively looking for something during the day and something that is more permanent). I am still home with the kids all day. It is quite a challenge trying to keep them quiet so Ernie can sleep during the day. I am trying to find some kind of job to do part time or something I can do from home. Most people tell me I should do in home daycare........but seeing as now a day's I can barely handle my own two, I don't know how much I could handle other people's kids as well! Plus, there is no way I would do that to Ernie. Maybe if he finds a job during the day, then I will consider it.

The boys are growing like weeds. Austin is finally starting to talk more and more. He likes to call me Torey all of a sudden and I don't know how I feel about that!! It's usually when he's yelling at me. Like "NO Torey" or "Mine Torey"! So much fun! Some times I wish we would have had just one more, but then my screaming 2 year old brings me back to reality and I am thankful for the two we have!!

Isaiah starts preschool in August. I can't really believe how old he is. He is so intelligent it amazes me sometimes. We went to Cortney's brother-in-law's graduation and it made me think how fast that is going to sneak up on me for my own kids!

Shaley is going to be coming to visit the end of this week. I am very excited!! Not only will it be a little break for me, but I miss her so much! I can't believe that she is going to be 16!! She will be graduating and starting a life of her own before we know it. It makes me sad. But she is an awesome young lady and I think we can expect great things from her!!!

Well, hopefully I will be able to keep up on this a little better. I enjoy it!

Easter Newness

Well, we made it through Easter. The boys had a lot of fun. We went to Nana and Papo's house(Ernie's parents). They got to hunt for eggs over there. It was a lot of fun since both boys actually could participate this year.

Isaiah is silly. He always wants to do something new with Daddy. His newest thing is "hunting" sharks. He loves sharks and want to go to the ocean and hunt one. So Ernie told him that when he is 15, he will take him to Florida. He also wants to snowboard, hunt and ride bulls just like his Daddy. He asked Ernie if they could go shooting just the two of them the other day. They both are very close to their Daddy. Today, Ernie started to watch the old Clash of the Titans movie on the computer and before I knew it, both little ones were on his lap watching it too. It makes me smile. With Ernie working nights, they don't get to see him much during the week, but when they do, they are so excited.

We are hoping to go camping this summer. I think it will be a lot of fun. I always loved it when I was little, so I hope they will too.

Spring is here....for today anyway!

Well, the weather seems to be getting nicer here finally. We will see how long it lasts. The boys love that they can play outside every day. We have added some new addtions to our zoo....a pacman frog named Jabba and two little mice, Panda and Diego. (Their offspring are destined to be food for Jabba) Isaiah picked the name Panda and Austin picked the name Diego. Nothing new has really been going on, just starting to get out of hibernation mode and exercise for the warmer months. I think I do it every year. I am like a bear or something; I pack on weight in the winter and then when it starts warming up, I naturally stop eating as much and want to exercise more. I usually always slim down in the warmer months without even thinking about it much. Austin will be turning 2 soon, so we are starting to think about his party. I am also scheming about Ernie's 30th birthday in July. I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet, but I want to do something...:)

Circus and Snowboarding

Well, snowboarding was a LOT of fun. Ernie convinced me to buy my own board and gear, so now I am all set! Now I just have to find the time to go! Ernie has been going every weekend, but I don't feel right leaving my kids behind every weekend, even if I am with them every day!
The kids and I are going to Grand Junction on Monday. I am looking forward to seeing everyone! IT is a challenge to travel by myself with both of them and we get the added pleasure of taking the new puppy with us! It should be interesting.....He went to the vet this week for his shots. He weighs a whopping 3.4 lbs. There was a large bulldog in the waiting room with us, and as typical little dogs do, Candel decided he was going to go after the bulldog...funny how even dogs have "little man" syndrome!
We also took the kids to the circus this week. Isaiah loved it! He loved all the animals and the attractions. I had a little bit of sticker shock from it. I can't believe what they charge for the cheap crap that they have to offer, so all we bought was some food. Isaiah wanted to go on an elephant ride, but sadly, we didn't have enough cash left over. It kind of made me sad to watch the animals anyway. Makes me wonder how well they are treated. I am no PETA, tree hugger, but I still have a heart and it made me sad to see these animals. But for all I know, maybe they are the best treated animals in the industry!(Highly doubtful) :( But on a happier note, Isaiah and Austin loved the popcorn and cotton candy. Isaiah ate most of the cotton candy himself and had a lovely blue mess all over his face. But I figure, you're only a kid once, so I like to let them experience it in all it's sticky glory!
